Cate Brown - Milk Workshop Ceramics

As a Melbourne-based, contemporary ceramic artist, Cate’s work navigates tactile relationships with material, form, and surface. Her pieces explore our connection to both built and natural environments; informed by her professional background in the design industry.

Engaging slab construction and hand-building techniques, her ceramic practice is guided by a philosophy centred on organisation, minimalism, and sometimes repetition.

Inspired by an interest in the brutalist movement and biophillic concepts, Cate emphasises raw, tactile surfaces that are intricately carved, woven, or folded. Her work invites curiosity as viewers unpack its visual layers.
